Elegant Ambience

Love the Antoinette ceiling light so much!

Antoinette's breakfast! ($24++) *Supplement of $3 for Poached Or Scrambled Egg
So this Antoinette's Breakfast set costs ($27++) as my choice of egg is Scrambled. This is the BEST Scrambled egg that i had among so many restaurants!!! It was so fluffy and smooth till now i still couldn't forget it...Drool....  I don't like sausage so i requested to change into ham. Served with grilled bacon as well as Basket of Viennoiseries below and a choice of Orange Juice/Coffee/Hot Chocolate.. Wonderful All Day Breakfast Set!

My most favourite is the one coated with icing sugar!

Florentine Savory Crepe ($18++)

Another of my favourite! Served with Serrano ham, Emmental cheese, sunny side up with hollandaise sauce. Remember to try this!

Classic Egg Florentine with Serrano Ham ($16.50++)
Their poached egg was cooked to perfection with runny yolk inside! High quality of Serrano ham and i love their toast very much. Another great all day breakfast!

French Toast with Caramelized Banana served with creme chantilly ($13++)

I like the creme chantilly with the French Toast very much!

Let's take a look at some of their unique patisserie creations below!

 Antoinette ($10+)
 This is my favourite and also the most popular cake called "Antoinette"!  Milk chocolate mousse infused with earl grey tea, chocolate biscuit, dark chocolate earl grey tea cremeux, raspberry coulis and earl grey tea crumble. You can taste the light Earl grey inside the rich chocolate mousse with chocolate biscuit at the bottom. Poke the raspberry coulis to help relieve the richness of the chocolate. A very satisfying dessert for chocolate lovers!

Summer ($11+)
 Raspberry mousse,pistachio bavarois, forest berries jelly, pistachio sponge and pistachio glaze on an almond sable. The taste was those sour type, very fruity taste!

 Superlova ($10+)
Rose petal mousse, rose finger sponge, yuzu cream, raspberry jelly, lychee, rose petal glaze, rose coral sponge, rose petal meringue, raspberry caviar, rose macaron, raspberry crumble, raspberry marshmallow. I'm sure most ladies will get attracted by this lovely sweet pink cake! But do note that this cake was really quite sweet. Great for sweet tooth lovers!

Chloe ($9+)

Yuzu cremeux, white chocolate vanilla mousse, light sponge cake, almond sable. This is a very refreshing cake!

They served very good coffee here!

Mandarin Gallery Outlet

Visited on 17 May 2014 (Sat). I like the romantic ambience at Mandarin Gallery outlet but the tables here are super small.. Once our food and drinks are all served, this is how it will look like below.. So do not order so much food at one time..  The seatings are quite cramped as well. Aircon was very cold here too.. Service was average. I would prefer the Penhas Road outlet which is spacious and more atas feel.

I like the way they present the bill in an unique antique box!

Overall the food & dessert at Antoinette were above average quality, which is why the prices are slightly on the high side! Service was very good at Penhas Road Outlet. The atmosphere and music was very relaxing too. This is the only cafe that I will go back again and again! :)

English High Tea at Tea Bar (81 Anson Road, M Hotel Singapore, Lobby Level) Reservation: 6500 6124

Revisited on 18th May 2014 (Sun).  English High Tea is available from 2 - 6pm daily. (3 Tier Stand + Free Flow of Coffee/Tea)

The items here are non-refillable but this is really a very good deal. Premium quality high tea items with free flow of coffee/tea + cosy hotel ambience

The ambience here was very relaxing and cosy! But don't expect good service here as this is not a 5 star hotel. The service was just so so, anyway the price is not ex. Now let's look at the ambience followed by the food items!

English Tea Set - Less than 15mins waiting time
Top Tier: Raisin scones with jam and clotted cream
2nd Tier: Cucumber with cheese sandwich + Smoked Salmon + Smoked Duck + Ham & Cheese Sandwich
Bottom Tier: Chocolate Eclaire + 2 different types of chocolate mini cakes + Macaroons

I'm glad that they're using Dilmah English Tea here and every bite of these high tea items were really enjoyable. Seriously, we like every single piece of the items here especially their scones, warm and fresh! Most importantly thing is there's icing sugar on the scones that tasted so nice!! The mini sweets were delectable as well!

This is a simple with good quality yet affordable high tea set! Will definitely come back here again!

Ala Carte Dim Sum Lunch at Peach Garden @Hotel Miramar (401 Havelock Road, Level 3 - Hotel Miramar) Reservation: 6736 3833

Visited on 23 March 2014 (Sun).  Only the outlet from Peach Garden @ Hotel Miramar has the most Irresistable Dim Sum Promotion in Singapore! (50% Off Lunch from Mondays-Saturdays and 30% Off Lunch on Sundays & Public Holidays) There're over 50 types of dim sum for your enjoyment!

The best thing is (No Minimum Spend is required!) But please check their website or call to check first if this promotion is still on before you go, in case they stop this promotion.

This Chinese restaurant is really very big and spacious with various private dining rooms to choose from. The ambience here is more like those traditional wedding banquet type. The service here was quite good but it's not those warm service. Plates were cleared regularly, tea was refilled promptly and the waiting time for the dim sum was not long so everything was quite alright.

Traditional Chinese Restaurant Style Entrance

Now the discount is 50% off from Mon-Sat, 30% off on Sun & Public Holiday

Steamed Siew Mai with Fish Roe - $5.20++
The siew mai here was quite big portion as compared with some hotels. Taste wise was decent but i felt it's not succulent enough.

Baked BBQ Pork Puff - $5.20++
I don't really like the char siew su here. The taste of the char siew was quite strong and sweet. The exterior was a tad rough and taste pretty normal.  I preferred those with some buttery baked skin taste.. I think it depends on individual preference.

Baked Mini Egg Tart - $4.80++
The egg tart was decent..

Deep Fried Spring Roll with Egg White & Crabmeat - $4.80++

This was one of the best and i think it was quite a rare dim sum that can be found in most dim sum places. The exterior was so crispy, the ingredients inside was so yummy even though we couldn't really taste the crabmeat and egg white (probably it's too tiny..) Remember to try this when you're there!

Deep Fried Mango Prawn Roll  -  $6.80++
The taste of the mango prawn roll was just nice, not too sour not too sweet...

Steamed Salted Egg Yolk Custard Bun - $4.80++

The skin of the bun was not fluffy type which was a disappointment.. The salted egg yolk was decent..

Dried Scallop and Dumpling in Shark's Bone Cartilage Soup - $16.80++
This was the most expensive soup in their dim sum list as the soup was boiled for many hours to enhance the taste. The broth was really thick and super yummy that you'll crave for more - Trust me! You can find dried scallops, dumpling and some prawns inside..

Chilled Mango Sago with Pomelo (Forgot the price)
As you can see from the photo, they don't really focus on the importance of the presentation. Can see the dessert was scooped hurriedly and there's a piece of mango stick on the edge of the bowl too.. Omg... Needless to say, i guess you all already know the conclusion of this dessert. The taste was exactly the same as the appearance - dull and sour... You may skip this dessert...

Recommended only if there is promotion of 50% discount from Mon-Sat and 30% on Sun & Public Holiday dim sum lunch. I feel that the original prices here is not on par with the quality.

Lunch at Royal Pavilion (Park Regis Singapore, Level 1 - 23 Merchant Road) Reservation: 6818 8851

Royal Pavilion has promotion now! I've tried their set lunch with the above deal.com voucher.

Royal Pavilion is a new 142-seater modern contemporary Cantonese fine-dining restaurant, helmed by Executive Chef Chung Ho Shi (Who is a veteran in his industry and formerly from Golden Peony @Conrad Centennial Singapore).

Chef Chung has established a very good reputation as a master chef to serve authentic cantonese cuisine throughout the years. He takes great pride in delivering the highest quality by using only fresh ingredients in his food preparation.

Located at the main hotel lobby level in the newly refurbished Park Regis Singapore, the restaurant has 7 private dining rooms (1 is at the centre of the restaurant). The main center of attraction definitely is the grand crystal chandelier which adds the luxurious touch to the restaurant that you'll find from the photos below.

Visited on 1st May 2014 (Thurs) - Total Amount Spent: $97.22 for 2 pax

This is their cosy Main Lounge outside Royal Pavilion... If you're early, you can have a seat here to wait first...

  This is their Main Entrance...

      These are the front seats near the entrance...  I like the lavish ambience here so much! :)

And these are the seats at the back of the restaurant...The chairs here are very comfy!

This is a semi-private room (Small Palace) situated right at the centre of the restaurant under the grand chandelier. I find this setting very unique! If you have 6-7 pax, can try to request for this unique seating.. Half privacy dining experience... :P

  And this is how it looks like inside the small palace...

1 Pot of Chrysanthemum Tea for 2 pax - $7.60++

I like the way they split the menu into two. The small menu is for the dim sum and the big menu is for Ala carte items.. So if you're here just for the dim sum, you can immediate get the small menu...

Click the photo to have a bigger view on the dim sum menu..

Baked Swiss BBQ Snow Bun - $5.50++ (Must Order!)
This is the most popular dim sum here, almost every table will order this and also my most favourite!!! I love the complementary not too sweet char siew filling and the crispy exterior so much! The snow bun is very light that i can finish all by myself! Hehe..

Steamed Shrimp Crystal Dumpling - $5.00++
I like the non-sticky crystal skin touch of this dumpling and the shrimp are succulent and fresh, yummy!

Siew Mai Skewer - $5.00++
I'm quite sick of the normal steamed siew mai and i'm delighted to find something different here, grilled siew mai! You must eat it when it's hot..I wouldn't say it taste great, but definitely worth to order...

Sauteed Seafood Duo Skewer with Crabmeat & Roe - $14++
Asparagus was used as a skewer here to pierce the hokkaido scallop and the giant prawn. Love the crabmeat roe sauce! Seafood lovers will love this dish!

Royal Smoked Duck (Half - $35++, Whole - $68++)
This is one of Royal Pavilion's signature dish! The skin was super crispy and the duck was smoked with lychee wood and leaves that gives you a very nice aroma! The above photo was in half duck portion...

Steamed Mashed Taro with Pumpkin Puree Served In Young Coconut - $8.50++ (Must Order!)
I have to say this is the BEST Orh-Nee that i had in Singapore! The yam paste is mashed till a very fine texture that make it super smooth and non-oily. The sweetness is just nice, you can scrape the coconut flesh out and eat with the yam paste together. 1 word to describe - Divine!

Heard that their Wok-fried Mashed Fish Noodle with Lobster in “Lao Gan Tie” Sauce ($28++) is worth to order too! The noodles were made of fresh fish paste and was very springy.

Overall the service here was impeccable! Most of the staff here were very friendly and efficient especially the lady senior supervisor "You Rong" worth to mention!

Our plates were cleared regularly. Despite they were so busy, the staff still will come and check our pot of tea and refilled the water for us without us asking.. I really have nothing to complain about this restaurant and the service. Finally another new Chinese restaurant that is worth a revisit! :-)  But don't expect classy and quiet type of environment like Jiang Nan Chun. The environment here belongs to more friendly and slightly noisy type.

This restaurant is mostly full house during the weekends, please remember to make your reservation in advance!

Revisited on 10th Aug 2014 (Sun).

Double-Boiled Shark's Fin Dumpling Soup ($8.80++)
Highly Recommended Soup! A very yummy & flavorful soup with very smooth and tender dumplings! A reasonably priced soup that you must try!!!

Carrot Cake with Lao Gan Tie Chili Sauce ($8.80++)
Wow we really love this carrot cake with their special Lao Gan Tie (Old Godfather) chili sauce! The cubes were tender and the taste was a tad spicy, a tad savoury with fragrant fried chili sauce.

Deep-fried Taro Puffs with Shrimp ($5.00++)
 This was quite average, the yam inside was quite sweet that seemed cannot complement well with the savoury shrimp..

Mini Egg Tarts ($4.60++)

This was 1 of the BEST egg tarts that i had at chinese restaurants! Very fragrant taste and melted in the mouth type!

A peek on some of their Ala Carte & Set Lunch Menu
