Lunch at Royal Pavilion (Park Regis Singapore, Level 1 - 23 Merchant Road) Reservation: 6818 8851

Royal Pavilion has promotion now! I've tried their set lunch with the above deal.com voucher.

Royal Pavilion is a new 142-seater modern contemporary Cantonese fine-dining restaurant, helmed by Executive Chef Chung Ho Shi (Who is a veteran in his industry and formerly from Golden Peony @Conrad Centennial Singapore).

Chef Chung has established a very good reputation as a master chef to serve authentic cantonese cuisine throughout the years. He takes great pride in delivering the highest quality by using only fresh ingredients in his food preparation.

Located at the main hotel lobby level in the newly refurbished Park Regis Singapore, the restaurant has 7 private dining rooms (1 is at the centre of the restaurant). The main center of attraction definitely is the grand crystal chandelier which adds the luxurious touch to the restaurant that you'll find from the photos below.

Visited on 1st May 2014 (Thurs) - Total Amount Spent: $97.22 for 2 pax

This is their cosy Main Lounge outside Royal Pavilion... If you're early, you can have a seat here to wait first...

  This is their Main Entrance...

      These are the front seats near the entrance...  I like the lavish ambience here so much! :)

And these are the seats at the back of the restaurant...The chairs here are very comfy!

This is a semi-private room (Small Palace) situated right at the centre of the restaurant under the grand chandelier. I find this setting very unique! If you have 6-7 pax, can try to request for this unique seating.. Half privacy dining experience... :P

  And this is how it looks like inside the small palace...

1 Pot of Chrysanthemum Tea for 2 pax - $7.60++

I like the way they split the menu into two. The small menu is for the dim sum and the big menu is for Ala carte items.. So if you're here just for the dim sum, you can immediate get the small menu...

Click the photo to have a bigger view on the dim sum menu..

Baked Swiss BBQ Snow Bun - $5.50++ (Must Order!)
This is the most popular dim sum here, almost every table will order this and also my most favourite!!! I love the complementary not too sweet char siew filling and the crispy exterior so much! The snow bun is very light that i can finish all by myself! Hehe..

Steamed Shrimp Crystal Dumpling - $5.00++
I like the non-sticky crystal skin touch of this dumpling and the shrimp are succulent and fresh, yummy!

Siew Mai Skewer - $5.00++
I'm quite sick of the normal steamed siew mai and i'm delighted to find something different here, grilled siew mai! You must eat it when it's hot..I wouldn't say it taste great, but definitely worth to order...

Sauteed Seafood Duo Skewer with Crabmeat & Roe - $14++
Asparagus was used as a skewer here to pierce the hokkaido scallop and the giant prawn. Love the crabmeat roe sauce! Seafood lovers will love this dish!

Royal Smoked Duck (Half - $35++, Whole - $68++)
This is one of Royal Pavilion's signature dish! The skin was super crispy and the duck was smoked with lychee wood and leaves that gives you a very nice aroma! The above photo was in half duck portion...

Steamed Mashed Taro with Pumpkin Puree Served In Young Coconut - $8.50++ (Must Order!)
I have to say this is the BEST Orh-Nee that i had in Singapore! The yam paste is mashed till a very fine texture that make it super smooth and non-oily. The sweetness is just nice, you can scrape the coconut flesh out and eat with the yam paste together. 1 word to describe - Divine!

Heard that their Wok-fried Mashed Fish Noodle with Lobster in “Lao Gan Tie” Sauce ($28++) is worth to order too! The noodles were made of fresh fish paste and was very springy.

Overall the service here was impeccable! Most of the staff here were very friendly and efficient especially the lady senior supervisor "You Rong" worth to mention!

Our plates were cleared regularly. Despite they were so busy, the staff still will come and check our pot of tea and refilled the water for us without us asking.. I really have nothing to complain about this restaurant and the service. Finally another new Chinese restaurant that is worth a revisit! :-)  But don't expect classy and quiet type of environment like Jiang Nan Chun. The environment here belongs to more friendly and slightly noisy type.

This restaurant is mostly full house during the weekends, please remember to make your reservation in advance!

Revisited on 10th Aug 2014 (Sun).

Double-Boiled Shark's Fin Dumpling Soup ($8.80++)
Highly Recommended Soup! A very yummy & flavorful soup with very smooth and tender dumplings! A reasonably priced soup that you must try!!!

Carrot Cake with Lao Gan Tie Chili Sauce ($8.80++)
Wow we really love this carrot cake with their special Lao Gan Tie (Old Godfather) chili sauce! The cubes were tender and the taste was a tad spicy, a tad savoury with fragrant fried chili sauce.

Deep-fried Taro Puffs with Shrimp ($5.00++)
 This was quite average, the yam inside was quite sweet that seemed cannot complement well with the savoury shrimp..

Mini Egg Tarts ($4.60++)

This was 1 of the BEST egg tarts that i had at chinese restaurants! Very fragrant taste and melted in the mouth type!

A peek on some of their Ala Carte & Set Lunch Menu

*Highly Recommended*
