4 Course Set Lunch at Royal Pavilion (Park Regis Singapore, Level 1 - 23 Merchant Road, Near Ministry Of Manpower) Reservation: 6818 8851

Visited on 12 July 2015 (Sun). Royal Pavilion is a 142-seater modern contemporary Cantonese fine-dining restaurant helmed by Executive Chef Chung Ho Shi (Who is a veteran in his industry and formerly from Golden Peony @Conrad Centennial Singapore).

The restaurant has 7 private dining rooms (1 is at the centre of the restaurant). The main center of attraction definitely is the grand crystal chandelier which adds the luxurious touch to the restaurant that you'll find from the photos below.

You can have a seat here first if you arrive before they open. A very relax and cosy area outside Royal Pavilion!

Luxurious settings of the restaurant with a grand chandelier!

These are the back seats.

This is a semi-private room (Small Palace) situated right at the centre of the restaurant under the grand chandelier. I find this setting very unique! If you have 6-7 pax, can try to request for this unique seating.. Half privacy dining experience... :P  If not, they also have a few beautiful private rooms. :)

And this is how it looks like inside the small palace...

Additional Order: 1 Pot of Chrysanthemum Tea for 2 pax - $7.60++

Royal Dim Sum Trio
Left-Right: Spinach Dumpling, Fried Beancurd Roll and Turnip Dumpling aka soon kueh. I like the creation from the chef, to make the soon kueh look like a little rabbit so cutie! This dim sum trio was decent, but the spinach dumpling surprisingly tasted good!

Baked Fillet of Cod with Teriyaki Sauce
Teriyaki sauce is a very popular sauce to be used for cod fillet. But not all terriyaki sauce is nice.. I'm glad that the sauce here did not disappoint us, the sweetness was just right and tasty. There were 3 mini pumpkin cubes underneath to pair with the cod fillet. The cod fillet was not tender enough but the overall taste was still very good!

Hot Pot Pumpkin Porridge with Minced Pork

It was served piping hot, bubbling in the hotstone bowl! Didn't expect this porridge to taste so good though I'm not a pumpkin lover! The pumpkin broth was very thick and flavourful with tender minced meat! Accompanied with a long fried spring onion twister roll! What a great combination! Non-Porridge lovers will love this to the max too!

Chilled lime Lemonade with Aloe Vera and lemongrass Jelly

I like the presentation of their dessert to be placed in a champagne glass. A very refreshing dessert with some plum sauce that tasted a bit sour a bit sweet. A nice ending to our meal!

Overall Impression: Service was quite good - Our tea was refilled regularly. Dishes were served promptly after we finished each course. Rest assured that their food quality is always high!

Complimentary Carpark Coupon is available here!

Their other dishes worth to order:

Royal Smoked Duck (Half - $35++, Whole - $68++)
This is one of Royal Pavilion's signature dish! The skin was super crispy and the duck was smoked with lychee wood and leaves that gives you a very nice aroma! The above photo was in half duck portion...

Carrot Cake with Lao Gan Tie Chili Sauce ($8.80++)
Wow we really love this carrot cake with their special Lao Gan Tie (Old Godfather) chili sauce! The cubes were tender and the taste was a tad spicy, a tad savoury with fragrant fried chili sauce.

Baked Swiss BBQ Snow Bun - $5.50++ (Must Order!)
This is the most popular dim sum here, almost every table will order this and also my most favourite!!! I love the complementary not too sweet char siew filling and the crispy exterior so much! The snow bun is very light that i can finish all by myself! Hehe..

Sauteed Seafood Duo Skewer with Crabmeat & Roe - $14++
Asparagus was used as a skewer here to pierce the hokkaido scallop and the giant prawn. Love the crabmeat roe sauce! Seafood lovers will love this dish!

Mini Egg Tarts ($4.60++)

This was 1 of the BEST egg tarts that i had at chinese restaurants! Very fragrant taste and melted in the mouth type!

*Highly Recommended*

Visited on 5 July 2015 (Sun). The Landing Point is one of the popular places that offers an elegant ambience for an exquisite Afternoon Tea or a tempting spread of chocolate creations from the Chocolate Rhapsody at night.

Price for Afternoon Tea: $45++ per person. (Refillable 3-Tier Stand + Free Flow of Coffee and TWG Tea Selection)

Mondays to Fridays: 3.00pm to 5.30pm

Saturdays, Sundays & Public Holidays:

12.30pm to 3.00pm (1st seating)

3.30pm to 6.00pm (2nd seating)

Cocktails: 5.00pm till closing

Price for Chocolate Rhapsody: $32++ per person. (Refillable 3-Tier Stand + Free Flow of Coffee and TWG Tea Selection)

Time: 8pm - 11 pm on Fri and Sat only.

Take Note: The staff will use a tray to bring over some high tea items to each table regularly and ask if you want a refill but they always bring those unpopular items. Popular items like - Creme Brulee Chocolate Tart, Salted Caramel Chocolate Tart and Lobster Tartlet were rarely bring over unless you keep on request. They took a very long time to replenish those popular items. So request as early as possible otherwise they will only bring out around ending time.

There will be occasional soothing tunes by the in-house pianist around 4-5pm during afternoon tea.

The staff will usually allocate the seats beside the bar counter for 2 pax or couples. There're pros and cons to be seated here. Pros is you can have the most direct breathtaking view of the Marina Bay (Photo below) Cons is they're all high tables with high chairs, somehow don't feel that relax having afternoon tea with high chair. Furthermore tables here are so small and this area is so cramped.. But some people feel that it's a different experience to be seated on high chair for afternoon tea. So it really depends on individual preference.

The sofa seats are mostly for big groups.

Free Flow of Coffee and TWG Tea Selection

Latte (Left) and Cappucino (Right) with a nice F Logo stands for Fullerton
Nice coffee here!

My choice of Tea: Magic Moment
Black tea blended citrus fruits and tropical coconut. A little fruity with aromatic mild coconut taste! Love this tea so much!

Ice Mocha

Freshly Baked Raisin and Plain Scone

Choice of Raisin or Plain Scone per person. They will serve the scone first before the 3-tier and they're not refillable. The scones were not bad especially the plain scone, it doesn't taste that plain. A little sweet taste.

Both top and bottom tier comprises of sweet tooth items while the middle tier are savoury items.

Top Tier Favourites: Creme Brulee Chocolate Tart and Salted Caramel Chocolate Tart

Can you believe I came here because of this creme brulee chocolate tart? LoL.. This is the main draw dessert at The Landing Point! I had about 6 of this all by myself!! This creme brulee tart was the only chilled item here so it feels very shiok when I put the chilled dessert into the mouth!! I like the caramelized sugar atop especially those that are torched till slightly burnt, just like the photo above. I will definitely come back here again because of you - creme brulee tart! :P

2nd Tier Favourites: Truffle Egg Mayo and
Lobster Tartlet and Quiche

Boston Lobster Tartlets
This is the most popular savoury item here! Quite spicy and flavourful succulent boston lobster meat inside this tartlet! I had about 8 of this!!!

Bottom Tier Favourites: Lemon Tart
The lemon was quite sour with nice buttery crunchy crust!

Overall Impression for Afternoon Tea: Service was polite but quite slow here as this place is always crowded. Only the hotel manager "Aprilyn" provide the BEST service. They were all seemed very busy perhaps this was why most of the staff did not put on much smile. They serve very good coffee and premium TWG Tea + this is the only place to have good chocolate tarts and lobster tarts that are refillable with stunning view so I will recommend this place for high tea!

Please try to make reservation earlier as this place is usually full house on weekends/public holidays.

 Chocolate Rhapsody

And this will be the Chocolate Rhapsody - Serve in a 3-tier stand to replace the previous chocolate buffet in buffet style from 2015.

Visited on 18 July 2015 (Sat).

Price: $32++ per person = Total bill of $75.33 for 2 pax

Time: Every Friday and Saturday - 8.00pm to 11.00pm

(Refillable 3-tier stand items + Free Flow of Coffee & Tea Selection)
Note: The tea selection is much lesser compared to the afternoon tea session. Only English Breakfast, Earl Grey and Camomile Tea.

We were lucky to be here during the Singapore National Day Rehearsal Period so we get to see many beautiful fireworks when we arrived!

Unwind within the lush ambience of The Fullerton Bay Hotel’s chic lounge and sip on coffee or tea while you enjoy decadent bites such as Fullerton’s Signature Chocolate Manjari Cake, Salted Caramel Tartlet and a trio of Chocolate-dipped Madeline. Chocolate Rhapsody includes a delicious chocolate fondue set with pandan egg rolls, fresh fruits, brownies and homemade marshmallow as dipping.

And here is our sofa seat that night!

Overall Impression: The service here was fantastic as we were served by Aprilyn again! (The Hotel Manager) I've been to all 5 star hotels and I can tell you she is the ONLY Hotel Manager in Singapore that always give you a wonderful smile at all times despite busy or not. She saved Fullerton Bay Hotel, otherwise the service here was so so... You're lucky if you're served by Aprilyn!

The chocolate items here were decent and very rich.. We did not have any item refill, in fact we still left some items untouched.. There isn't any live piano session. But the ambience here was really romantic and you get to see laser light show at stunning views of the Marina Bay

The Courtyard at Fullerton Hotel will still be my top choice if I have cravings for chocolate buffet as they have live violin music over there, more variety, not everything in rich chocolate that make you get sick easily as they still have crepes, ice-cream and shooter glasses with not rich chocolate mousse. Price is only $6++ difference per person between these 2 hotels so I would rather pay $6++ more per person in order to enjoy a complete chocolate buffet experience though there isn't any view there! So you decide to go to The Landing Point OR The Courtyard for your chocolate experience!
