Makan@Jen is a vibrant all-day dining restaurant that offers a blend of local specialities and international classics. They have both a la carte and buffet-style options with a variety of cooking stations.

This was my 2nd visit to Makan@Jen, and I still get the same feeling - "Wow"... Cos this restaurant is really big, with full-height glass windows, and a view of the city. It's really a very delightful experience to dine here!

Note: For people who drive, please park at Level 8 to access the hotel lift lobby. Then take the lift to level 10 to Makan@Jen! :)

I love this sitting area! Comes with a great view~

Assortment of beverages:
Orange, Apple, Pineapple and Grapefruit Juices
+ Peach Tea + Ice Water

Dilmah Tea Selection

Choice of white coffee and teh tarik from the nescafe machine on the left, and coffee selection from the machine on the right,  Don't get your caffiene expectations too high though...

Wine Station at additional $19++ per person

Assorted Sandwiches

Laksa Station

Roast Pork Belly

Roast Duck
They have very nice roast duck here, the meat was not tough and was marinated well!

DIY Rojak

XO Carrot Cake

Green Vegetable with Mushroom

Eggs Station

My Choice of Egg: Scramble

Their scramble egg was not bad, it would taste better if they can add a pinch of salt..

Chicken Satay
The meat of the satay was a tad tough.. and because it wasn't grilled over an oped fire, it didn't have the slighty charred taste.

Beautiful Condiments for Satay

Roti Prata

Ayam Masak Merah

Seabass in Saffron Sauce
I like the creamy saffron sauce very much, complemented the tender seabass so much!

Black Pepper Seabass

Really delighted to see they have 2 types of cooking method for the seabass when I was there that day. And both were equally great!

Vegetarian Pasta

Pork Knuckle

Prawn Twister

Quiche

Fried Noodle

Japanese Station and Seafood On Ice

DIY Salad

Scones

Dessert Station
8 Selections of Ice-Cream

Decent ice-cream here..

Pandan Chiffon

Mango Pudding

Coconut Tart

Red Bean Tart

Blueberry Cheese

Banana Caramel

Gula Melaka

Overall Impression: Most of the food were average with some really good. Service here was excellent for the first two hours with the plates cleared promptly. But the clearing rate starts dropping off after that. But that is to be expected so it was not out of the ordinary. Nonetheless, the staff were always polite and courteous regardless of the situation. We had some issues with our table and seats but they were promptly settled by the staff and manager courtly.

Overall Makan @Jen is worth a revisit. The food is quite good and the ambience is relaxing. The staff here are all young people in casual uniform so you will not feel stress dining here - The perfect place for a casual meal with good friends and family. Oh and not forgetting the price is reasonable too!

(Closed Down) Lunch at Bottura (3 Temasek Boulevard - Suntec City Mall, #02-472/473/474, North Wing between Tower 1 & 2, Singapore 038983) Reservation: 6238 7527

Bottura is a casual Italian dining restaurant that serves home of authentic Italian cuisine at affordable prices. It was backed by generations worth of culinary experience, closely following the Bottura family's traditional cooking style.

Opening Hours:

Mon-Fri: 10am-10pm

Weekends and Public Holidays: 11am-10pm

Wide Selection of Gelato

Latte ($4.50++)

Pancetta e uovo ($20++)

This is my favourite pizza here! Italian bacon made of pork belly meat that is salt cured with a runny egg yolk at the center. Must-Order!

Al Parma: pomodoro, mozzarella, prosciutto di Parma
(Tomato, mozzarella, and Parma ham) $18++
Al parma pizza was a thin crust pizza with cheese and thinly sliced parma ham.The parma ham was a tad too salty, so I would preferred it to be sliced into bits rather than the whole piece atop.

Degustation of 4 desserts ($14++)
Panna Cotta, Coccobelli, Chocolate and Blackcurrant (The items served are different sometimes). The only item that I like here was coccobelli. You can order this ala carte or takeaway from the counter. So I think you can skip this dessert platter and go for the classic Tiramisu!

Tiramisu ($8++)
Somehow I like the way they present their Tiramisu, looks like those ice-cream sandwich rather than the boring type of Tiramisu cake image. The taste was quite good but I want more cocoa powder on it!

Overall Impression: The staff were polite with efficient service. Food was not bad at affordable prices with very comfy ambience at the refurbished Suntec City mall. The place is huge with wide variety of gelato selection, this will be an ideal place for friends or family gathering.
