2 Types of Creme Brulee:
Vanilla (Left) and Illy Coffee (Right)

Pistachio & Raspberry Soft Cake

Amedei Toscano Black Chocolate Tart
You have to try this - Rich dark chocolate cake with crunchy tart!

Passion Fruit Almond Tart

Fig & Almond Tart

Neapolitan Baba

Mini Neapolitan Sfogliatelle
Sfogliatella, is a shell-shaped filled Italian pastry native to Campania. "Sfogliatella" means "small, thin leaf/layer," as the pastry's texture resembles stacked leaves.

Bitter Sweet Amedei Chocolate Tart
This was an exquisite dessert for chocolate lovers!

Vanilla Panna Cotta
This was 1 of my favourite dessert on that night! The vanilla panna cotta was like a smooth soya bean pudding, complemented so well with the aromatic cookie crumbs!

Classic Tiramisu
Tiramisu is always a popular Italian dessert, how can we skip this classic dessert? Their Tiramisu here were not over creamy with generous cocoa powder atop which I like but the proportion of the liqueur in some of the shooter glasses were not well blended, so some of them were a tad bland while some were really good.

Lemon Meringue Tart
Thankfully their lemon meringue were not that sour so you will have no problem in having a few pieces at one go. Haha! Their tart was super crunchy and very buttery - I like!

6 Selection of Homemade Gelato and Sorbet

Lime and Mango Sorbet

Antipasti Buffet

Note: For the 3-Course dinner, you can get the antipasti items from the buffet counter. After you're almost done, you may inform the staff to start preparing your main course. (Select 1 Main Course from the menu) After the main course, help yourself with the extensive dessert buffet! So this will be the 3 Course Dinner with extensive choices from Basilico! :)

Complimentary Bread: Focaccia paired with olive
The focaccia bread was quite soft and nice! You can request for more bread. :)

Complimentary Soup: Cauliflower with Truffle
It's good to have a small bowl of soup to complement the meal. The soup has a very light creamy cauliflower taste with a hint of truffle!

Signature Pizza - Mascarpone Cheese Pizza with Truffle
You must order this pizza when you're there! The mascarpone cheese was so nice, not over cheesy and it made me feel like as if I was eating half pizza and half pancake, very special pizza that I had so far. Thumbs up for this great pizza!

My Main Course That Night:
Seared Salmon Steak with roasted turnip

The skin was extremely crispy and the salmon meat was nicely seared, complemented so well with the sauce!

Additional order: Regular Coffee from illy ($9.50++)
The prices of their coffee are on the high side. Be prepared their Cappucino, Latte etc cost above $

Overall Impression: Most restaurants provide inconsistent service but I've been to Basilico a few times, I must say their service is always very consistent - BEST Service! The staff were all trained to be very polite, always with a smile and provide high level of service at all times, compared to other hotel restaurants. We were really very impressed with each and every of them. (Kudos to all the staff at Basilico!)

The 3-Course Dinner at Basilico definitely worth every cents you paid, compared to other fine dining restaurants. We usually have only 1-2 choices of antipasti and dessert at most fine dining restaurants, but at Basilico, you can have at least 10 choices of each! Overall the ambience during dinner is quite dim and romantic, very cosy too! Trust me, you will not regret dining here - Basilico is definitely 1 of the BEST choice for Birthday/Anniversary or any celebration!

Visited on 11 Oct 2015 (Sun). 1933 cafe is the lastest venture opened by the BreadTalk Group. Their breakfast is served up till 2pm on weekends!

Opening Hours:

Mon-Fri: 11:30-22:00

Sat-Sun: 10:30-22:00

1933 invites you to step into a time portal and take a trip back to the 1930s where cultures converged. Enjoy the finest renditions of 1930s cuisines such as Hainanese Kampong Chicken Rice and Nanyang Curry Chicken in a bread bowl, as they marry Asian flavours with Western influences for a unique Southeast Asia regional style. Their signature milkshakes is your ticket to the 1930s Magnolia Snack Bar at Capitol.

I like the peaceful and cosy ambience here! Good for couple on a date or friends catch up! :)

You can hold small corporate event at their mezzanine floor here

Kopi Latte ($6++)

Asian Kopi marry with Western Latte! I like this combination but the taste is still more like our western latte! Haha.. Comes with a nice 1933 logo on it but I dislike cups without handle.. So hard to lift it up when it's hot...

Brioche (Left) and Curry Chicken Croissant (Right)
Both bread taste decent...

1933 Breakfast Platter ($12.80++)
This platter comes with Choice of Egg, 2 pieces of soft bread, 2 small hash brown, 1 Luncheon Meat, 1 Bacon and Tomato Beans. You can choose the type of egg that you want. The scrambled egg was a tad too milky, I suggest you choose sunny side up! A simple breakfast platter just like home-cooked!

 Handmade Yam Cake ($7.20++)
This is a must-try when you are there! Very crisp exterior, yet the yam cake can still be so soft and moist inside! Complemented so well with the shallots and sambal chilli!

Gula Melaka Pandan Cake ($8.90++)

This is their signature dessert that you must try too! Soft and very aromatic Pandan cake with coconut flakes and cream atop, not forgetting to dip the cake into the gula melaka sauce, it taste heavenly!

Take a peep at their other menu

Overall Impression: I like the relax and cosy ambience here. Food quality was between average to slightly above average! Service was polite and good. Prices is on the mid range so it's still affordable! Go try this place if you have not!
