Visited on 22nd March 2014 (Sat). Restaurant week lunch buffet at $25++ per person = Total bill of $58.85 for 2 pax. (Their new price of Restaurant week lunch is $40++ per person now)

Normal Day Price: $42++ for Lunch Buffet daily, $62++ for Dinner Buffet daily except Fri dinner buffet is at $75++ with seafood.

The new Westin Singapore is a small but very modern beautiful hotel.

Seasonal Tastes is a very big & spacious restaurant that offers a live interactive kitchen concept. They serve Asian to International cuisine buffet. As this place is very bright due to the floor-to-ceiling windows that show off panoramic views, it will make you feel very refreshed! Let me show you how big is this restaurant! :)

Remember to add the syrup from the bottle to sweeten the ice tea otherwise it will taste very bland (See the Red arrow)

My Favourite Dessert Section!

Premium Gelato 

Premium Quality of Dark Chocolate, Avocado, Tiramisu, Apple Sorbet and Rasberry!

I love this cake! The cake was very soft and had a fragrant taste, the chocolate inside was light. Overall tasted great!

I like this mango mousse cake but the top layer of mango was a tad dry and the cake can be softer. Hope they can improve on this...

This looks good but i forgot to try! :(

This was the non-popular dessert. Hope they can have Tiramisu or Creme Brulee!!

Was too full to try this chocolate brownies...

This was very nice, tasted like there're coconut crumble inside!

This was a very nice, light strawberry cheese cake with cookie at the bottom!

This chocolate cake was average, quite rich...

Lemon Meringue Tart

 I would like to Highly Recommend this - BEST Lemon Meringue Tart that i had compared with other hotels! The tart was so nice! Very very crispy and the lemon was just right, not too sour not too sweet just nice! Full marks for this great mini dessert!

This lemon meringue in shooter glass not so nice.. Very sour...

The cream puff was average..

You can skip their mini pancake here. Very hard and tasteless....

The scallop here was very fresh & nice!

Japanese Section

Vegetable Veloute Soup

This was a nice creamy light soup 

Lotus Root with Chicken Soup

This soup was very nice but too salty.... Chef, please take note!

Yam Ring with Prawns

It was rare to see Yam Ring at international buffet that made me so delighted! And it tasted very crispy and delectable!!! Eat it while it's still warm, it doesn't taste nice when it's cold. Do not miss this great food if you see this!

Pan Seared Sea Bass 

I love to eat sea bass and i was delighted to see this in a lunch buffet. But i was a tad disappointed with the meat. It's not tender, quite tough.. Hope they can control the temperature better.

Non-photo items: They still have a small Indian counter and some other very normal food that i did not take any photos

Usually other buffet restaurants serve free flow or a cup of normal english breakfast tea. But here, they served you a whole pot of premium tea with many choices like English Breakfast Tea, Lemongrass & Ginger Tea, Jasmine Tea, Peppermint & Chamomile Tea etc.. I ordered Camomile tea and it comes with a small bottle of honey to make the taste of the tea nicer... You will feel like you're having a high tea.. So relax........ :-)    Note: Coffee/Tea only limited to 1 round.

Overall the service was average.  Plates were not cleared fast but still acceptable. Moderate food quality and the quality of the desserts were slightly better than the food.. 

After they increased the normal day lunch buffet price to $42++ which adds up to a total of around $50 per person, i feel that the price is not worth for the buffet here at all.. The food here was too simple till i don't even want to take the photos for most of the food.

Guests who dine in at Seasonal Tastes enjoy complimentary per entry parking for the following time:

• Mondays to Fridays after 6 p.m.
• Saturdays & Sundays all day

I hope Seasonal Tastes will win by Quality if there're no variety...

Restaurant Week Dinner at The Lighthouse (The Fullerton Hotel - 1 Fullerton Square, Level 8) Reservation: 6877 8933

Visited on 15th March 2014 (Sat). Restaurant week dinner at $55++ per person = Total bill of $129.47 for 2 pax.


The Lighthouse has one of the most mesmerizing views of the city skyline and Marina Bay waterfront from atop The Fullerton Hotel. They serve authentic Southern Italian cuisine with specialties and quality produce from gastronomy rich regions like Campania, Sardinia and Sicily.

A good spot for photo taking first before went up to the lighthouse!

Note: When you reach level 8, you have to take this lift up to The Lighthouse.  If the lift is out of order, you'll have to climb up the stairs at the corner beside the lift. (Which happened to us on that day!) :(

Complimentary bread 

Vegetable Minestrone Soup, Goat Cheese & Scallop

I'm a person who don't take vegetables or minestrone soup. But surprisingly i enjoyed this soup! The soup was tasty, the scallops were fresh and the goat cheese was melt-in-the-mouth!

Octopus & Lobster Carpaccio, Mix Green Salad, Honey Lemon Dressing

This was a fantastic appetizer! The octopus & lobster meat was so refreshing, tasty and very tender! You will love this!

Roasted Seabass Fillet in Cartafarta Bag, 

Cherry Tomatoes, Black Olives, Saffron Potatoes

This was my first time having seabass that need to open the bag which i think was rather special! It's like a kid open the present with surprise!

Having seabass at so many hotel restaurants, this was one of the BEST i've had so far! The seabass was so fresh, so tender and the broth was very very delicious that you really have to try it!!!

Chicken Roll with Fontina Cheese, Gratin Potatoes, Sweet & Sour Chicory

Only this chicken roll was a big disappointment. The meat was quite dry and tough, nothing special about this.

Tiramisu

They were very generous with the Tiramisu, it was quite a big glass and tasted very good except it was a tad too creamy!



You can pay a visit to their Rooftop Bar if you're looking for after meal cocktails or champagnes!

Overall Impression: I was surprised that the restaurant was really small and cramped. Service was not pro, in fact it was quite bad (Water was not refilled at all and some of the staff seemed inexperienced) They seemed to provide better service to foreigners from my observation. But the food and view was nice! Nevertheless, it's still a good experience to dine at least once at Lighthouse (On Top of Fullerton Hotel) just to enjoy the food, ambience and stunning view!
