New Year Eve Dinner Buffet at 10@Claymore (Pan Pacific Orchard, 10 Claymore Road) Reservation: 6831 6686

Visited on 31st Dec 2013 (Tues). New Year Eve Dinner Buffet with Free Flow of coffee/tea

Price: $98++ per person = Total bill of $230.69 for 2 pax.

If you're a dessert lover like me, you will like this place as they have very wide array of desserts!

They have a TV showing the live cooking in the show kitchen. It adds to the theatrics of the restaurant and guarantees the freshness of the dishes as they are prepared in front of our eyes!

New Zealand Peppermint Chocolate Chip + Lemongrass Ice-Cream

My Favourite Durian Crepe! Very Crispy and Very nice!

Yummy Boston Lobster!

Australian Ocean Caught Salmon

Canadian Premium Nagano Breed Pork

Wagyu Beef

Drunken Prawn Pot

Cantonese Four Treasure Pot

Singapore Chilli Crab

Duck Confit

Steamed Seabass in Hong Kong Style

Delighted to know they're serving Good Quality Tea here! :)

Overall the food was average except the Boston Lobster, which was really delicious! The minus point that i want to highlight is most of the meat here were not that tender (Drunken Prawn, Salmon from Plates of Treasure, Steamed Seabass, Duck Confit etc) If all these can be much tender, it would be perfect! Desserts were decent nice, but still not up to the standard of very nice. Hope the chef will improve in the area that I've mentioned.

Service here was quite bad. I must say most of them were not that attentive compared to other hotels. We couldn't find any staff at our area even before the crowd started. Try to assign a few staff at designated area to standby so that whenever we need anything, the staff can accede to our request promptly rather than we keep trying to catch their attention.

Note: Complimentary carpark coupon available here!

Visited on 24th Dec 2013 (Tues). X'mas Eve Dinner Buffet with Free Flow of Champagne, Wine & Juices!

Price: $148++ per person = Total bill of $348.39 for 2 pax.

Edge is a theatrical and interactive dining space. Enjoy a variety of delectable Asian and Pacific cuisines – including Chinese, Malay, Indian, Singaporean, Thai, Japanese and Pan Pacific’s signature “Pacific Cuisines" from the 7 open kitchens. The restaurant is very big, occupied the whole row.

Tada! This was where we were seated! We purposely chose the outside seat where i could view the whole atrium while dining (Look at the 2 photos below)

Merry X'mas!

Dessert Corner

I'm a super dessert lover so I really have to say, this is the first hotel that i encountered with disappointing desserts in terms of taste, variety and X'mas deco display.. especially on such an important day - X'mas Eve. I cannot imagine, the desserts on X'mas Eve were already like this, don't even mention on normal days...

The Crunchy Hazelnut Log Cake tastes very normal until you reach the middle crunchy part which is slightly nicer.

The Creme Brulee & Durian Pengat were not bad..

There were only 2 types of shooter glass (Oh My God..)

Too many berry desserts - Berry Shortcake Blueberry Cake + Red Velvet + Cherry Tart (Again, Oh My God...) Too many similar taste of dessert will make people get sick of it.. The chef should have thought of this...

I would suggest to the chef that he can try to have more variety of different tastes; like the hot favourite Tiramisu, Mango, Durian, Earl Grey Chocolate, Pandan, Green Tea, Mocha or Coconut in cake style or in shooter glass.. Maybe can add popular tarts like Lemon Meringue.. Perhaps having 2 types of Log Cake as well? Hope the chef can improve the quality of the dessert and can be more creative by having different tastes in more variety.

Ok enough of the dessert review... Let's look at the Good Quality Food below!

la Minute Grilled Items

Black Pepper Crab & Chilli Crayfish

Love the chicken satay so much! A simple chicken satay can cook until so nice!!

Grilled Sea Perch + Slow Cooked Salmon Fillet
I would like to strongly recommend this dish - Grilled Sea Perch! The taste was very good and quite tender, it would be excellent if i can be more tender!

Beef + Duck Leg Confit

BBQ Pork Ribs + Turkey Burger + Turkey Chestnut Stuffing

Turkey

Clam Chowder + Cream of Pumpkin

Nice Pizza!

Tradional Chawanmushi - Light and super super smooth!

Other than the above food, they still have Thai, Indonesian, Japanese and Indian food kitchen.

Overall the food quality here was really good except the desserts! The service here was not very good initially. We were neglected maybe due to outside seating.. No one clear our plates and offer us any drink until we feedback to the manager when he asked us how was the food. From there on, the service became very good! The staff kept refilled our champagne and cleared our plates regularly. Haha!

The X'mas atmosphere here was not strong, quite boring actually. No X'mas door gift given.. Santa Claus only gave each one a lollipop... Hope they can have more X'mas activity here!

Gourmet Afternoon Tea at La Brezza (The St. Regis Singapore, Level Two - 29 Tanglin Road, Singapore 247911) Reservation: 6506 6884

Visited on 15th Dec 2013 (Sun). Every Sat & Sun: 3-5pm

Price: $29++ per person = Total bill of $68.26 for 2 pax.

Enjoy a trattoria-style Italian afternoon tea which includes 1 Plate of Savoury + 1 Plate of Sweets + Unlimited Gelato + Coffee + Digestivo (Homemade Alcohol Drink)

La Brezza is having Weekend Prosecco Brunch from 12-3pm on every Sat & Sun and follow by the Afternoon Tea session from 3-5pm immediately after the brunch.

So when we first came at 3pm, we were shocked to see the restaurant was still full of people from the brunch session and the noise level was very loud which left us a bad impression of this place initially. The crowd was cleared only until close to 4pm. So i would suggest do not come early, try to come around 3.30pm in order to have some peace. After the crowd was cleared, the restaurant was quiet and cosy! :)

This is their relax indoor seating with open kitchen concept.

You can choose to have Alfresco seating to enjoy the afternoon tea by the sparkling pool!

1 Plate of Sweets + 1 Plate of Savoury

Premium Gelato
Nice Gelato they have!

Digestivo (Homemade Alcohol Drink)
This alcohol drink is very strong and very bitter! I don't think ladies will like this...

Overall the food here was ok but not great and the service was average. But it's a good chance to try out this small Italian restaurant in St Regis at only $29++ per pax for the afternoon tea. You may get to see some superstar here if you're lucky! :-)
