Visited on 11 Oct 2015 (Sun). 1933 cafe is the lastest venture opened by the BreadTalk Group. Their breakfast is served up till 2pm on weekends!

Opening Hours:

Mon-Fri: 11:30-22:00

Sat-Sun: 10:30-22:00

1933 invites you to step into a time portal and take a trip back to the 1930s where cultures converged. Enjoy the finest renditions of 1930s cuisines such as Hainanese Kampong Chicken Rice and Nanyang Curry Chicken in a bread bowl, as they marry Asian flavours with Western influences for a unique Southeast Asia regional style. Their signature milkshakes is your ticket to the 1930s Magnolia Snack Bar at Capitol.

I like the peaceful and cosy ambience here! Good for couple on a date or friends catch up! :)

You can hold small corporate event at their mezzanine floor here

Kopi Latte ($6++)

Asian Kopi marry with Western Latte! I like this combination but the taste is still more like our western latte! Haha.. Comes with a nice 1933 logo on it but I dislike cups without handle.. So hard to lift it up when it's hot...

Brioche (Left) and Curry Chicken Croissant (Right)
Both bread taste decent...

1933 Breakfast Platter ($12.80++)
This platter comes with Choice of Egg, 2 pieces of soft bread, 2 small hash brown, 1 Luncheon Meat, 1 Bacon and Tomato Beans. You can choose the type of egg that you want. The scrambled egg was a tad too milky, I suggest you choose sunny side up! A simple breakfast platter just like home-cooked!

 Handmade Yam Cake ($7.20++)
This is a must-try when you are there! Very crisp exterior, yet the yam cake can still be so soft and moist inside! Complemented so well with the shallots and sambal chilli!

Gula Melaka Pandan Cake ($8.90++)

This is their signature dessert that you must try too! Soft and very aromatic Pandan cake with coconut flakes and cream atop, not forgetting to dip the cake into the gula melaka sauce, it taste heavenly!

Take a peep at their other menu

Overall Impression: I like the relax and cosy ambience here. Food quality was between average to slightly above average! Service was polite and good. Prices is on the mid range so it's still affordable! Go try this place if you have not!

Relish By Wild Rocket (501 Bukit Timah Road, Cluny Court, #02-01, SIngapore 259760) Reservation: 6763 1547

Visited on 11 July 2015 (Sat). Relish by Wild Rocket is a casual dining restaurant specialising in good quality burgers by Chef Willin Low. They know not everyone is into burgers so they also offer all day brunch and pasta menu. I'm not a fan of burgers but a crazy Pandan and Gula Melaka lover, so I decided to try out all their items with Pandan and Gula Melaka!

This is their bar counter

As the restaurant is facing the Botanic Garden, so I find the deco here complemented very well with the surrounding. You will find some potted plants hanging around + the restaurant is in white, so it gives me a very clean, cosy and laid-back ambience!

I personally like this cosy corner!

Pandan French Toast ($17.80++)
Classic Chiffon Cake dipped in egg batter, grilled and topped with gula melaka syrup served with bacon.  This is my first time having pandan french toast in chiffon cake style which I think it's really creative! But I couldn't really taste the gula melaka syrup, perhaps it's better to put the syrup separately. As the french toast is sweet stuff, it's nice to pair with a savoury crisp bacon that was rolled like a rose so pretty!

The Melaka Waffle ($14.50++)
Light and crispy waffle served with coconut ice-cream topped with gula melaka syrup. The waffle was super crispy! But again, couldn't really taste much gula melaka. 2 suggestions: Maybe can put the syrup in a cup for customers to pour themselves to prevent the syrup from being dry up fast when served. Or Pour more syrup onto the waffle - Too little syrup. The gula Melaka taste was quite mild too.

Pandan Panna Cotta ($9++)
Pandan infused panna cotta with gula melaka. The panna cotta was very smooth but the pandan taste was too mild, can't really taste the pandan otherwise it's perfect..

Latte ($5.50++)

Homemade Pink Lemonade ($7++)
A beautiful refreshing soda to quench your thirst! Must Try!

Overall Impression: Service was quite good as we were there early. Love the jazz music from Olivia that they played in the morning, made the whole ambience very relaxing. The food that I've tried above were all quite nice and light. Would prefer slightly stronger pandan and gula melaka taste as I find them too mild. Prices here are on the high side so might not be back again soon. Burger lovers, go try their burgers!

Dazzling Cafe (15 Stamford Road, #01-85 Capitol Piazza, Singapore 178906) Reservation: 6384 3310

Visited on 1st June 2015 - Public Holiday (Mon).

Dazzling Cafe is one of the most famous cafes in Taiwan and is commonly frequented by celebrities and socialites that has been crowned as "A Celebrity Hotspot." They're famed for their signature Traditional Honey Toasts with a modern twist.

I love the chic interior in my favourite Turquoise! I'm sure this place will be a hotspot for many youngsters daily!

We were seated at one of those tables in front of the beverages counter which I think it's very cramped and no privacy as we can overheard each other conversation easily. If there's a choice, avoid the seats here...

This is their beverages counter. The waitresses were in milkmaid uniform!

Remember to look at this enchanting starry ceiling!

These are the seats inside which I think is more cosy...

There were seats on the mezzanine too that you can bathe in natural daylight!

All the seats with bunny ears are occupied fast most of the time!

Beverages Menu

Brulee Tea with Milk (Pot for 1 Person) $8++
I like the aromatic milk tea, something like creme brulee but it was a tad overly sweet.

Does this matcha toast looks like a X'mas Tree? All in green with a matcha macaron! Haha..

There were 3 slices of toasts. The waitress will offer to help you to move the whole cream with 1 toast to the side and use a knife to slice the toast for you and unveil the toast cubes shown in above photo. The matcha ice-cream was hidden inside the cream. They will then serve you a cube of each flavour and topped with the cream + ice-cream as shown in the below photo. The edges of the toast was very tough so I guessed it's probably just for display, not meant to be eaten.

Tip: Try not to order this hazelnut chocolate and matcha honey toast together as both were more or less the same taste and the cream was very sweet. You will get sick of it easily halfway....

Other Honey Toast Selections

Overall Impression: The staff were all very young and energetic here! They will greet in chinese "Wu An, Ning Hao" (午安您好) loudly together to boost the atmosphere whenever customers step in. The service here was quite efficient. The presentation of their honey toasts were very unique, probably is the best presentation in Singapore so far. The quality of their matcha and hazelnut chocolate toasts were really good too but overloaded cream! It will make you get fatter faster too! Haha..

As we have only 2 pax, we were completely full after trying the two creamy honey toasts and the milk tea. No more stomach space to try their savoury items. I'm glad that they offer wide selection of honey toasts, so that we can always try different toasts whenever we're here. Heard that their mentaiko spaghetti was very popular too, remember to try it! As the prices here are on the high side so this will not be a place that people can patronize frequently.
