(Normal Steam Egg Custard and Pumpkin Egg Custard)
These were probably the worst chawanmushi that we had.. They looked so plain, taste very bland with totally no broth inside and miserable piece of prawn inside.
Hotate Be-kon Piza (Thin Crust Scallop Bacon Pizza)
This was the BEST Pizza that I had! Melt-in-the-mouth with very nice sauce and ingredients!
Kani Miso Shiru (Cream of Crab Bean Paste Soup)
The soup was light with natural sweet taste with some fresh crab meat. Not Bad!
Ika Karaage (Baby Cuttlefish)
It was crispy and good!
Shake Teriyaki (Grilled Salmon with Sweet Soy Sauce)
This was decent as the meat was a little tough and the sauce not very nice..
Tori Teppan (Chicken)
You can skip this...
Tebasaki Shioyaki (Grilled Chicken Wing with Salt)
The taste was very bland.....
Saba Shioyaki Grilled Mackerel with Salt
Kani Tenpura (One Mouth Crab Tempura)
Ebi Tenpura (Prawn Tempura)
Tako Yaki Soft Octopus Ball
Yaki Tori Tare (Grilled Chicken in Skewer)
Buta To Garlic (Grilled Pork with Garlic Seasoning)
Overall Impression: The ambience here was indeed much better than other Japanese restaurants. Service was average. However, the buffet selection were boring and the food were decent quality.
The disappointing part is - For this price of $39++ on a Sat dinner, they can't even include green tea in it. We still have to pay extra for the tea. Most Japanese buffet include many types of drinks, hence I find $39++ per pax = Total bill of $94.16 for 2 pax including green tea was overpriced for the buffet selection as not a single food here can impress us. Even Shin Kushiya tasted much better than the food here. You can try this place if you don't mind just decent food but at a better ambience. For this price, I expect high quality food, otherwise I would rather visit Momiji at Newton outlet.
